Melodic hard rock just doesn't have the exposure it once had.  I ended up ordering this through an ebay auction because I couldn't find it in stores or on traditional retail websites.

Twenty 4 Seven consists of John Corabi (Motley Crue, Union, Ratt, The Scream), Bobby Blotzer (Ratt) and Robert Marcello.  For those that don't know who John Corabi is, he was the voice behind arguably the most artistic Motley Crue record.  His has a great raspy rock and roll voice reminiscent of Rod Stewart, but with some serious balls.

I bought this disc hoping for the best and have been relatively pleased.  The music is straight forward hard rock music including several covers including Something (George Harrison), No Matter What (Badfinger) and what I'm assuming is an early version of Live For Today off of Ratt's most recent Portrait records release.  The new version of the Ratt tune has quite different lyrics and is titled Someone I Don't Wanna Be.

The music was a little more polished than I was expecting including layers of guitars and slick background vocals.  After a few spins the cd comes off as a good listen although the attention to detail of a major label release is not present.  Being a huge fan of Corabi, it is nice to hear his voice on some new tunes.  This cd will be great for existing fans of Ratt and Corabi but probably won't win any new fans.  I think if DeMartini had played guitar on the disc it would a bit more memorable.
